goals
a) To train researchers with a solid conceptual base in the discipline, capable of generating new knowledge for the scientific development of Microbiology
b) To train scientists capable of leading and / or forming research groups that develop in the Academy, Institutes or Research Centers.
c) Contribute to meeting the demand in Chile for scientists with a high level of national and international competitiveness
Applicant Profile
a) Be in possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in areas related to Microbiology. In all cases, the Program Committee will review the applicant's academic training to determine if he can satisfactorily comply with the Work Plan necessary for his doctoral training.
b) Verify an intermediate level of the English language oriented to literacy, which will be evidenced by means of a document that endorses training in the mentioned language during their academic training, or an accreditation issued by specialized Centers or Institutions.
Graduate profile
a) Apply the knowledge of microbiology to carry out fundamental research integrating the genetic, physiological, biochemical, clinical and ecological approaches of microorganisms.
b) Formulate and develop research projects to generate new high-impact knowledge, based on frontier knowledge of microbiology in the areas of Virology, Bacteriology and Mycology.
c) Disseminate research results through national and international scientific dissemination media
d) Perform in the Academy, Institutes, Research Centers, in association with the industry, among others, both national and international.
