goals
a) Contribute to the formation of advanced human capital that generates knowledge in various areas of Biotechnology through critical analysis and resolution of biotechnological problems with emphasis on the areas of Aquaculture, Microorganisms, Plant Biotechnology, and Biomedicine.
b) To train graduates capable of promoting the development of original projects and lines of research in Biotechnology that contribute to the scientific / technological development of the country.
c) Consolidate a development pole that promotes multidisciplinary research in Biotechnology.
d) Contribute to the positioning of the University of Santiago de Chile as a national and international benchmark for biotechnology research
Applicant Profile
a) Be in possession of at least the degree of
Graduate in the areas of Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Biotechnology,
Marine Biology, Biotechnology Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering in
Bioinformatics, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or related to Biotechnology. In this last

b) Verify at least a basic level of English
oriented to reading-writing, which will be evidenced by means of a document that endorses

Graduate profile
a) Raise and solve biotechnological problems,
applying the theoretical knowledge of the areas of the Program and the methodologies
experimental discipline.
b) Propose and execute research projects
in Biotechnology, promoting teamwork and leading research groups to
national and / or international level.
c) Generate new knowledge with results
publishable and / or transferable to society.
d) Carry out a rigorous investigation,
respecting the bioethical and biosafety standards of Biotechnology.
