goals
The purpose of the Doctorate in Medical Sciences is to train high-level graduates by offering a program whose approach combines the flexibility of the curriculum with the quality of the Degree. The curriculum includes compulsory courses to be completed in 4 academic semesters, and will have a semester regime. Applicants to the Degree must carry out a Thesis and defend it publicly. The minimum number of credits for the program will be 137, corresponding to 62 credits for subjects and 75 for the Thesis.
Applicant Profile
Be in possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the disciplinary field of Medical Sciences and the like; With the exception of those cases in which the application is covered by an international agreement or treaty signed by Chile (General Postgraduate Regulations, Universidad de La Frontera. Exempt Resolution No. 2156 of June 23, 2010. Title II article 13)
Graduate profile
The training delivered by the Doctorate Program in Medical Sciences (whose hallmark is the research methodology and evidence-based clinical practice), aims to train graduates who have the ability to develop independent, original and creative research; in order to train human resources trained to know how to do and conduct disciplinary investigation, conform
research teams, leading processes; and appropriately occupying the necessary spaces to carry out high-level clinical and applied research.
In this way, it is expected that at the end of their studies, graduates of the Doctorate program in Medical Sciences of the University of La Frontera, will be able to perform functions
collaborative research in centers of higher national and international level; as well as, to propose and execute scientific research projects.
