Applicant Profile

You must have an academic degree certificate of Bachelor of Geography, or in other areas that are comparable to the requirements of the discipline (in the area of Earth Sciences or Social Sciences), granted by a national or foreign university.
If applicable, Master's certificate in Geography or related areas, awarded by a national or foreign university. In addition, you must certify compliance with the minimum requirements of English language proficiency. If they do not have this accreditation and if accepted, the applicant will undertake, within the development of the Doctorate Program in Geography, to obtain it.

Graduates of the program are expected to demonstrate their ability to:

High-level researchers, creating original knowledge that contributes to the advancement of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the discipline,
Expanding and strengthening their competencies for the transmission of knowledge of the geographical area in higher education;
Scientists in public or private research organizations, providing proposals for solutions to conflicts that derive from human use of the earth's surface. Likewise, it is expected to enhance the capacities to lead multidisciplinary work teams both in Chile and abroad, and as agents for the inclusion of geographical knowledge in the scientific debate, becoming a qualitative contribution to the search for solutions to the use of the territory. by society.
