goals
The program seeks to train doctors of philosophy who can work in academic institutions around the world, promoting the internationalization of research carried out by students. Students are required to take specialized seminars, carry out outreach activities and a research stay abroad is also required, along with the preparation of their doctoral thesis.
Applicant Profile
Be in possession of a Bachelor's degree and have obtained a Master's degree from a national or foreign university.
Have a clear and well-delineated research project.
Demonstrate command of the English language or some other relevant foreign language (German, French or Italian).
Occasionally, students who have only a Bachelor's degree or equivalent will be admitted, upon request to the Admission Committee, in accordance with the provisions of Art. 15 of the Program Regulations.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Doctorate in Philosophy will be able to produce original, quality research according to international standards, and communicable in relevant and prestigious media. Graduates may join as full members in the international scientific community that corresponds to the subject of their specialty. The marked international character of the Program and the possibility of a double degree will allow graduates to have research networks beyond the local or regional environment, together with the skills to work in prestigious academic institutions around the world.
