Promote the formation of advanced human capital in regions, in accordance with national and international standards, from a critical analysis of scientific production and technological advances. Generate contextualized knowledge about school culture within the framework of educational research from an interdisciplinary perspective in order to produce innovation and social change.
Applicant Profile
Students with a Master's degree in the areas of Social Sciences and / or Humanities. In the case of foreign students, the Bachelor's Degree will eventually be admitted, as long as: their programs have a minimum of hours that make it comparable to a Master's degree, demonstrate productivity, etc.
Graduate profile
The Doctorate in Education is an academic program that provides training based on competencies, characterized by responding to the demand for advanced human resource training for the generation of knowledge. For this, the new socio-educational scenarios of the regions, the country and the challenges of the globalized world that seek to understand, explain and improve the quality of education are considered, both in disadvantaged social contexts and in diverse cultural and intercultural contexts. It is focused on the scientific training of educational research, favoring an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach, according to the types of research projects underway within the framework of the research teams and the faculties of education of the Universities in Consortium. In addition, the training delivered in the Doctorate is based on the mission, vision and values of each university that is reflected both in the scientific work of the program and in the execution of the study plan through its compulsory and elective subjects
Lines of investigation
Line 1: Teacher training and learning
This line of research seeks to generate knowledge about approaches, policies and practices of teacher training, at different levels of training, disciplinary areas and contexts of professional performance, as well as studies on the educational process either in natural, virtual and experimental contexts .
Line 2: Education and interculturality
The education and interculturality line has as its fundamental objective the construction of knowledge from an epistemological-intercultural pluralism, which allows broadening the understanding of social inequalities and cultural segregation in the Chilean and emigrant population, both in the educational and social fields.
