goals
To train Doctors in Education, conceived as researchers with a high capacity for reflection, knowledge generation and evaluation about policies and practices in the educational field, capable of autonomously conducting research on relevant problems in the educational field in a rigorous and original way.
Applicant Profile
Be in possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or other areas, or a professional title whose level and content of studies are equivalent to the required bachelor's degree, issued by a Chilean or foreign university.
Prove proficiency in English as a second language, according to the level defined by the Program Committee.
Have basic training in research methodology, according to the minimum level defined by the Program.
Graduate profile
In accordance with the general and specific objectives of the Program, the graduate of the Doctorate in Education must be able to:
Conduct autonomous research that allows you to produce relevant knowledge in the field of education.
Understand the fundamental problems of the educational field, based on theories and paradigms provided by different areas of knowledge to contribute to the improvement of educational policies and practices.
Critically appropriate new knowledge in the field of education and build new theoretical-practical proposals relevant to educational needs.
Participate in forming and leading research teams, displaying knowledge in research designs, methodologies, integrity and ethics.
Contribute personally and creatively to the construction, circulation and communication of knowledge, through oral and written products such as publications and presentations at scientific events for various audiences.
Contribute to the knowledge and updated understanding of the trends, conceptualizations and approaches of a specific field of education.
