The additional period will run between Monday, August 19 and Friday, September 6, 2019, until 1:00 p.m. Registrations are made online, through the site https://psu.demre.cl/.
The general secretary of CRUCH, María Elena González, stressed that "we want applicants to participate in this process in an informed manner" and facilitate decision-making.
The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) announced that there will be an extraordinary registration period for the University Selection Tests (PSU), from Monday, August 19, from 09.00 hours, until Friday, September 6, at 1:00 p.m.
The secretary general of CRUCH and director of the Single Admission System (SUA) of the Council of Rectors, María Elena González, highlighted that this additional period “is a last opportunity for those who wish to participate in the 2020 Admission Process and have not been able to register during the regular period ”.
González added that "we want applicants to participate in this process in an informed way, so we invite them to periodically review our websites and social networks, so that they know content that can help them in making decisions."
As in the regular term, registrations must be made in the Applicant Portal, https://psu.demre.cl/, administered by the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement and Registration (DEMRE) of the University of Chile.
Once the additional registration expires, the process files will be closed, which implies that no modifications of any kind can be made, as established in the document "Rules and Important Aspects of the Admission Process", published on past May 30.
Admission Process 2020
The admission process, administered by the Single Admission System (SUA) of the Council of Rectors, has the purpose of selecting those who apply at any of the 29 universities that make up the CRUCH or at any of the 12 attached private universities.
To select the candidates, the scores obtained by the applicants in the established selection factors (PSU, High School Notes, NEM, and Ranking of Notes) are considered, so that they enter, according to their preference, to any of the institutions that participate in the SUA.
According to the 2020 Admission Process Calendar, on Thursday, September 12, the document "Definitive Offer of Careers, Vacancies and Weightings" will be published, while on Thursday, November 7, the places of the PSU will be announced.
On Sunday, November 17, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the recognition of surrender rooms will be held. On Monday 18, at 09.00 hours, the PSU of Language and Communication (compulsory) will be given and from 2.30 p.m., the PSU of Sciences (elective). The next day, Tuesday 19, the PSU's turn for Mathematics (compulsory) and History, Geography and Social Sciences (elective), at 09:00 and 14:30, respectively.
The results of the PSUs will be known from 08.00 hours on Wednesday, December 18 and that day, at 09.00 hours, the application process to the universities that make up the SUA will begin.
